Many Hands

My recent paintings examine the shared spaces within my studio building. In particular, I’ve been drawn to the communal sink -- an often overlooked site where brushes are washed, paint is discarded, and palettes are cleaned. Over time, layers of pigment and wear have accumulated on its surfaces, creating a visual record of the many artists who have passed through the building. Through these paintings I think about the studio not just as a workspace, but as a living environment shaped by many hands. By focusing on an ordinary, functional corner of the building, I’m interested in how creative communities leave their imprint on the spaces they inhabit.
